Do you have an interest in reading and trivia? Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for teens entering grades 6 through 9. We will compete with other Suffolk County libraries in August.

Held at our Mastic Beach Branch.  

Join instructor Jacqui to learn the amazing card game Canasta. You will learn the newest version of this fun game.

This program will take place at the Moriches Branch.

Read and discuss Noragami 1 by Adachitoka, then enjoy a snack while we watch episodes from the anime adaption! Check out the book through Comics+ with your library card. Or, check out a physical copy at the Mastic Beach circulation desk.

Bring an item to Tie-Dye and learn about the science behind it!  

Earn one hour of community service by designing spring cards for hospitalized kids. For students in grades 6 through 12 with a valid MMS library card. 

Appointments are required. Appointments will be held in person at the Main Branch, 407 William Floyd Parkway, Shirley.  

Grades K-5.
 

Join us for a hands-on, tasty adventure as we create edible sand cups using simple ingredients! This program may not be suitable for those with food allergies. 

Draw, paint, sketch and explore art with Mr. Casper. This is a drop-in program.

Learn how to prepare nutritional meals on a budget through a hands-on presentation 

Appointments are required. Appointments will be held in person at the Main Branch, 407 William Floyd Parkway, Shirley.  

A place where any teen can come down to discuss any topic they want in a judge-free atmosphere. Where they will feel accepted and appreciated for the differences that make them unique.

Fee: $12

A unique program where teens get to pick topics that are of concern to them that will be discussed among their peers in a judgement free and open atmosphere.

This event occurs offsite at the Terrell County Park, 43 Montauk Highway, Center Moriches, NY 11934.
