In this workshop, William John Rostron discusses how to use real-life experiences to write fiction, non-fiction, and a hybrid of both. “Write what you know” is a commonly used cliché among writers. However, perhaps what you know is just not quite interesting enough? How do you enhance the stories that you want to tell? Some points covered include using music to remove a writer’s block, brainstorming, writing in the first and second person to create emotion, and much more.
