Known by many as the "Second Independence Day," Juneteenth has been celebrated by African Americans since 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation. Festivals and foods like Johnnycakes will be shared with patrons. Diane Schwindt shares the legacy. Open to all.
